Sweden’s Eurovision Song Contest 2026 representative Felicia has already become one of the most talked-about artists of this year’s competition — not only because of her highly streamed song “My system”, but also because of the mask she wears both on and off stage.
Are you curious about why the pop diva is wearing the mask and what her face actually looks like? You’ve come to the right place. Nyheter24 has interviewed the artist on several occasions throughout the years and followed her career closely.
Sweden’s Eurovision artist 2026 Felicia was previously known as Fröken Snusk
Before stepping out as Felicia, the Swedish singer Felicia Eriksson was known to many as Fröken Snusk, a masked artist whose pink balaclava became a major part of the act’s image. During those years, her identity was kept secret while she rose to fame with several popular hits – often with sexually explicit lyrics within the Swedish “epa dunk” genre – and millions of streams.
In spring 2025, it was announced that the Fröken Snusk concept – created by producer Rasmus Gozzi – would continue with a new person behind the mask, while Felicia went on to launch her own career under her real first name.

Why does Felicia wear a mask to cover her face?
Although Felicia has now left the Fröken Snusk persona behind, she has continued to perform with part of her face covered — often wearing large sunglasses or a decorated face mask. According to Felicia, the mask is no longer about hiding her identity. Instead, it has become a way for her to protect herself and take control of how much of herself she wants to show.
She has previously explained that she is not yet ready to show her face publicly, saying that people cannot hate what they cannot see and that she does not want to receive criticism for the way she looks.
At the same time, Felicia has made it clear that the mask is not necessarily permanent. She has previously removed it in private interview settings and has said that the goal is to stop wearing it eventually. For now, however, it remains part of her artistic expression and personal boundary.

As she brings “My system” to the Eurovision stage in Vienna, Felicia knows that international viewers may be curious about the mask. But according to the singer, fans outside Sweden have already been quick to understand the story behind it.
– I’ve already been to Eurovision pre-parties and had to explain it. People catch on very quickly — faster than here in Sweden, actually. They really get it and explain it to each other. It’s really lovely to see how engaged they are, Felicia explained to Nyheter24 in an interview at the end of April.
